I'm just curious on how you can tell if there's rotation on radar.

What do you have to look for?

WQ: What does velocity mean on the doppler radar?
WQ2: What do the colors mean on velocity?

Looking at a velocity image from the radar, you see mostly various shades of the colors red and green.  The red shades indicate motion away from the radar while green shades indicate motion toward the radar.  The brighter colors indicate higher speeds.  Now note where the radar is located on the image.  It is in the center.  Rotation is indicated where, if you draw an imaginary line outward from the center, you would encounter a relatively small area of red pixels on one side, with a small area or green pixels immediately adjacent to the reds on the other side.
