Spherical aberration in the primary mirror of a reflecting telescope is GENERALLY avoided by

(a)   making the mirror surface a parabolic shape.
(b)   using adaptive optics.
(c)   putting extra lenses in the light beam to correct for the shape of the primary mirror.
