3 -- Adrenoleukodystrophy is an X-linked disorder characterized by an accumulation of very long chain fatty acids in the adrenal cortex, testes, brain, and spinal cord. Other causes of Addison’s disease include autoimmunity, anticoagulant use, and ACTH deficit related to pituitary trauma. Surgery is not indicated.
