Parabola opens to the left
y^2 = -4a(x-2)
a = 2
y^2 = -8(x-2)
8x+y^2-16=0

The vertex tells you that (x-2) is part of your equation.

The focus point is 2 less than the vertex, meaning that the parabola opens to the left. This also tells you that the 'y' term is the one that is squared and that it is positive.
It also tells you that your p value is -2.

y^2 = 4(-2)(x-2)
y^2 = -8(x-2)
