Doing a compare contrast assignment, and I'm having trouble narrowing down what all these have in common with each other besides that they're microorganisms.

Well, they are not ALL microscopic, you do not need a microscope to see all fungi, just some yeast forms.  They are not ALL unicellular, most fungi are multicellular, and viruses don't even have a cell! Because you are having to make this comparison with viruses, you can't even say that being "alive" is one of the characteristics that they share. I would say the single unifying feature among all things listed is that they use DNA or RNA to transmit genetic information...
