In a scientific experiment, a control group:

check all that apply

1. is less important than an experimental group.
2. can be compared with an experimental group to assess whether one particular variable is causing a change in the experimental group.
3. must be kept in a laboratory.
4. is essential.

2 & 4

Not 1 because without a control the results would not be considered valid

Not 3 because you can conduct experiments in places other than in a laboratory.  To take an extreme example, robotic Mars explorers conduct experiments to see if there is life on Mars - the nearest lab is millions of miles away from them

well i guess u could have 3 in there because the experiment would be done in a lab, but you would also defiantly have 4 in there
