In my chem class, there is a question in a lab about predicting the solubility behavior of ethylene glycol, knowing that it is very soluble in ethanol.  However, since ethanol is both polar and non-polar, most substances that are either polar or non-polar are only slightly soluble in ethanol.  Wouldn't it have to then be true that ethylene glycol is also both polar and non-polar?  I cannot seem to find the actual polarity of ethylene glycol online.  Can anyone help me out?

Ethylene glycol is ethanol with an extra OH group on it.  The rule on solubility is that like dissolves like.  Doesn't that seem to fit here?
