Different types:

ENVELOPED VIRUS: A virus consisting of nucleic acid within either a helical or polyhedral core and surrounded by an envelope. The envelope is usually derived from a host cell membrane by budding.

NAKED VIRUS: A naked or nucleocapsid virus lacks an envelope and consists of only a genome and a capsid.
