Dan should consider the diner's proximity to its market. Because his business needs steady customers, he should choose an area where his diner is visible to passing cars and pedestrians. Restaurants, supermarkets, and service businesses should be situated in a location with a high potential customer base in order to gain an advantage in attracting business. If a location is tucked away in remote area, few people will see it, which may lead to poor business.
