I am given the problem u=2i-3j and
v=4i+3j
and told to sketch them, and find the degree measure of the angle between the vectors. How do I do this?

u = 2i - 3j = < 2, -3 >
v = 4i + 3j = < 4, 3 >

Each vector can be thought of as a ray with its origin at the point (0, 0) and its arrow at the point indicated by the vector.

Graph of u:
(0, 0) to (2, -3) with an arrow at the point (2, -3)

Graph of v:
(0, 0) to (4, 3) with an arrow at the point (4, 3)

To find the degrees of measure use the arctangent.

Degree Measure for u:
theta = arctan( -3/2 ) = -56.3 degrees = -56.3 + 360 = 303.7 degrees

Degree Measure for v:
theta = arctan( 3/4 ) = 36.9 degrees
