From the perspective of both Piaget's theory of cognitive development and contemporary cognitive psychology, students can learn something meaningfully and effectively only when they know:
A) how the information relates to what they already know and believe.
B) that they will be evaluated on the basis of how much they know and how well they know it.
C) how different the information is from things they have learned previously.
D) that their teachers consider the information important enough to spend classroom time on.
