bicarbonate and H+. I have come up with this, but it doesn't look right. Would somebody please show me how to solve this?
H2CO3 = H+ + HCO3-
I am new to this!!

Looks OK to me!

H2O + CO2 <-> H2CO3 <->(H+) + (HCO3-) (Weak acid)

These are equilibrium reactions, but they explain why plain soda water (H2O + CO2) is fizzy and why it has a slightly sharp taste.
