The information that the agency should gather to assist with the marketing campaign are the competitors’ and the company's promotions, general business seasonality, weather conditions, changes in customer buying behavior and preferences, etc. Information pertaining to the broader macroeconomic factors like consumer confidence and interest rates should be gathered, as well as information pertaining to demographics. The marketing mix presents the 4 P's of price, promotion, place, and product, which is the information that advertising agencies should gather to assist with a marketing campaign.
