Copper (II) chloride can react with zinc metal to produce zinc chloride and copper metal. How many grams of copper can be produced using 35.5 g zinc metal and an excess of copper chloride?

Zn + CuCl2 = ZnCl2 + Cu
moles Zn = 35.5 g /65.38 g/mol=0.543
moles Cu = 0.543
mass Cu = 0.543 x 63.546 g/mol=34.5 g
