Do I have to solve for x and y and use the substitution or elimination method? Or could I graph it and look at it like that?

y-x=10
x+9=0

y = 10 + x

x = - 9

y = 10 - 9
y = 1

x = - 9 , y = 1

any of them gives you the same answer

x = - 9\

y - (-9) = 10
y = 10+ (-9)
y = 1

answer { - 9; 1}

y-x=10   eqn 1
x+9=0    eqn 2

use eqn 2, subtract 9 from both sides to get        x = -9

now substitute -9 for x in eqn 1 to get    y - (-9) = 10
simplify to get      y + 9 = 10
sub 9 from both sides and get   y = 1

so, (x,y) = (-9,1)
There are other methods that could be used, it is your preference.
