I know that the former is in the Caspirian strip in the endodermis to prevent apoplast, and the latter in xylem vessels. But what is the exact difference? N.B. I am an AS student so no confusing details please. Frowning Face thanks in advance.

Suberin is highly hydrophobic and a somewhat 'rubbery' material. Its main function is to prevent water from penetrating the tissue.

Lignin or lignen is a complex chemical compound most commonly derived from wood, and an integral part of the secondary cell walls of plants and some algae.

Lignin and suberin are the only known biological polymers that are irregular.
