Oh boy, there's so many to choose from! I'll pick one of the more well known ones - hemophilia.

Hemophilia is a disease where the person can't clot blood so they bleed to death. It is inherited in a sex-linked recessive manner, meaning the people who inherit it will almost always be male. In order for a female to get it, the mother would have to be a carrier and the father would have to have the disease, but this would be a very rare occurrence. In the case that a female does inherit the disease, imminent doom is waiting for her at puberty, if she manages to survive to that age. (They bleed to death from menstration.)
