Here is the question:

The asteroid belt that lies between Mars and Jupiter may be the debris of a planet that broke apart or did not form. This belt has a period of 5.0 years. How far (in AU) from the sun would this "fifth" planet have been?

I have been re-reading this problem trying to determine which formula to use and I have no idea how to go about solving it. I though maybe the formula for kepler's constant but I only have the p. No constant or a.
Help please?

The base equation is P^2 = A^3 where 'P' is period and 'A' is distance

Since you want to know 'A' change the equation to A = P^2/3 and solve.
