What's an elliptical solar system? If you mean a system where planets have elliptical orbits, then certainly yes, seeing as we live in one.

The Answer is Yes. Our earth has elliptical orbit.

But it depends on how elliptical the orbit is. Highly elliptical orbits cannot support life because they may reach too far and too close to parent star. In both the cases, life cannot exist.
