A woman has a rare abnormality of the eyes called ptosis which makes it impossible for her to open her eyes completely. The condition has been found to be caused by a single dominant autosomal allele (P). Her father has ptosis, but
not her mother. Her father's mother had normal eyelids. What are the genotypes of the woman, her father, and her mother?

The woman would be Pp.
Her father could be PP or Pp.
Mother has to be pp

Why the father's genotype?  Genetics is the luck of the draw or the roll of the dice.  It is possible that this time, the gene inherited was P from the dad, but the next time, it could be pp, normal.  In other words, there is a 50/50 chance of normal not normal eyes.
