(Whilst revising) I'm trying to answer the following question:
The cathode of the photocell is made of potassium, which has a work function of 3.6 x 10-19 J.
Calculate the maximum wavelength of light which could be used in this experiment.

If i'm right in thinking wavelenth= Wavespeed (300 000 000ms) / Frequency

Then I need to know the threshold frequency.

How do I work out the threshold frequency from the work function?

Energy of a photon is E = h? where h is Planck's constant and ? is the photon frequency. Solve to get ? = E/h. The work function is the minimum photon energy required to liberate an electron from a metallic surface.

This was what got Einstein his Nobel Prize, not relativity.
