a) What is the pH of this buffer solution? The Ka of ascorbic acid is 8.0 x 10 ?5.

Using the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation:
pH = pKa + log [base]/[acid]
pH = - log (8.0 x 10^-5) + log (4/1)
pH = 4.10 + 0.60 = 4.70
