We are given a prompt in chemistry to give a procedure to find out the concentration of salt in a sample of saltwater. We have to find out the concentration (or just how much salt there is) in a 50mL sample of saltwater from a fish tank. We can use any equipment, but I dont know how this procedure would work!

If all you're interested in is the concentration, you can just measure the volume, boil it dry, weigh the solute left behind and then divide the weight by volume. That will give you weight by volume concentration. If you want to find molarity, you'd need to know what compounds make up the solute which are probably many and there are a variety of diagnostics you could perform but as far as a basic concentration is concerned, that's what I'd do.
