In my math book I have a quadratic equation with three variables. It is (2x + 3)x - 3x= 0 . I checked the answers and they are 0 and -3 . I know these answers are correct, and I can get 0 as an answer, but I can never get minus 3. I have tried the quadratic formula but even that doesn't work. Please show me the method to solve this problem.

(2x + 3)x - 3x= 0....you do NOT have 3 variables - only ONE. get rid of brackets
2x^2 + 3x - 3x = 0
2x^2
x 0

if there were two answers, 0 and -3
then
x(x+3) = 0
x^2 + 3x = 0
you do NOT have this equation
only one solution
x = 0

perhaps you copied the question wrong?!?!?

2x^2 = 0
x = 0
-3 is not the value of x.

(2x+3)x-3x=0
multiply x and 2x+3 together

that gives u

2x^2 +3x- 3x=0
+3x and -3x get cancelled so all u hav now is

2x^2-0
on taking the square to RHS you get
2x=0
on taking 2 to RHS  u get
x=0/2
that is
x=0

there is no way u can get -3....
y don't u check you question or the answer once again?
