There are four generations in the workplace today: Traditionalists, baby boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials (or Generation Y). There is some indication that Gen X and Y are more inclined to value money, status, and rapid career growth than are boomers. There is also evidence that Gen Y’s and Xers, compared to Boomers, see work as less central, value leisure more, and are more inclined towards work-life balance. However, the evidence indicates that all work generations share the same values but express them differently.
