C) Selective distribution is used for products like televisions because buyers spend more time comparing competitors' prices and features; therefore, they need more information in order to differentiate between one brand and another. Producers selectively determine which outlets are best for their products and then often train salespeople in order to ensure the best service. No other distribution method is appropriate for this type of product and approach to sales.
