The PAR-Q is a self-administered questionnaire that is designed to help you assess your current ability to increase your physical activity levels. It does this by asking general questions about symptoms you may be having at rest or during activity. These questions are purposefully general in case you have not been officially diagnosed with a disorder or disease but they alert you to the fact that what you are experiencing is not normal. To that end, if you answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions it is recommended that you not increase your physical activity level until your physician approves it. The physician may also provide modifications or suggestions for suitable activities for your level of fitness.
