Around the world, groups of nations are banding together to form regional trade associations for their own benefit. These organizations include the ASEAN Free Trade Area (which includes several nations in southeast Asia), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (many nations of the Pacific Rim, as well as the United States, Canada, and Mexico), the Economic Community of Central African States (many nations in equatorial Africa), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates). The most recent agreements are the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which involves 12 different Pacific Rim Countries, and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA).
