A) A significant benefit of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Assisted Manufacturing) is that custom-designed products can be produced in volume without incurring higher costs. The need for human labor has not been replaced, but rather shifted to more technical in nature. The cost of materials is not impacted by CAD/CAM. The systems are complex to operate and do require well-trained technicians.
