B) The older techniques of quality control revolved around the idea of having the responsibility for quality control be with one team. This method was not only found to be costly, but not as effective as possible. The main reason for its ineffectiveness was because the inspection happened after completion of the product, thus not allowing for corrections along the way. The goal of quality control is to reach a peak level of quality and maintain it, even improve it, but that is not attainable without building quality into every step of the production process. TQM requires building quality into every step of the production process.
