Okay,
first you have to get moles from these grams. You can get moles by dividing these grams by their molar mass. which will give you moles for each, in this case its 2.231 g divided by 78.9630 g/mol = 0.02825 moles.and selenium 3.221 g divided by 18.998 g/mol 0.1695 moles. now you have to take the smallest mole and divide the rest. here F has smallest moles, so 0.02825/0.02825 = 1, and for F 0.1695/0.02825 = 6.00, thus the empirical formula is Se6F1. Hope this helped you Slight Smile
