Channel protein: Selectively allows certain molecules/ions to pass through
eg: Aquaporin (allows transport of water molecules)

Receptor protein: Selectively recognizes and binds cetain ligands and in turn initiates a cascade of cell signalling events or engulfment of ligand into cell upon recognition
eg: Insulin receptor, G-protein coupled receptor

Marker protein: It is specific for certain cells and can be used to distinguish from other cell types
eg: cancer specific cell markers - VEGF, p53
