I didn't choose b because I found a source that said it's underproduced due to the mutation. If you can find a source that counters that, than b is correct (see the attachment I uploaded above). I figured that since sickle red blood cells are over produced due to their short life span, bone marrow - the location where blood is made - would be affected.

Also, I just read how bone marrow transplant can cure SCD.

I'm not entirely sure A is correct but it makes the most sense. E and D are impossible.
