a) 52 ÷ 2 = 26
He has 26 pay periods in a year.
$143 000 ÷ 26 = $5500
The employee's gross pay per pay period is $5500
b) $5500 ÷ 10 = $550
$550 ÷ 8 = $68.75
The employee earns $68.75 per hour.
