Circulatory System.  Jaundice is defined by Bile or liver problem causing yellowness. Jaundice is a sign indicating increased production of bilirubin, or decreased ability of the liver to process it, usually related to liver disease.  Jaundice occurs in your blood, which is your circulatory system.

Digestive system. The liver  (part of GI system) produces the bilirubin which, in excess amount in the bloodstream, causes the yellow discoloration of jaundice.

Bilirubin can be in excess amount in the blood due to:

overproduction
decreased clearance from the bloodstream (liver failure)

SO - jaundice really is MORE of a disorder of the digestive system - the causative organ system.

Jaundice is most commonly the result of a disorder affecting the liver and as such is primarily a digestive system disorder, although its effects can generally be detected in the blood as a raised bilirubin level, and also in the urine in the form of uribilinogen. It is the liver which needs to be the target for treatment, even when it is caused by gallstones, which are initially produced from a malfuctioning liver.

If you only get one choice, it is a poor question. Jaundice can be either a disorder of the circulatory system - hemolysis - or of the digestive system - obstruction of the bile duct, infection/hepatitis, other liver disease.

If massive hemolysis overwhelms a normal hepato-biliary system, it is not a disorder of the digestive system.
