Teaching children to name the letters of the alphabet in isolation:
a. Is an ineffective means to helping them emerge as readers and writers.
b. Depends on a child’s first language.
c. Is easier for junior kindergarten students than grade 1 students.
d. Should be taught in clusters of five or six “look-alike” letters.
