Language and speech differ in that
 
  A) language involves brain functioning, while speech has no cortical involvement
  B) several animal species are capable of language, while only humans are capable of speech
  C) speech is one of the several ways of expressing language
  D) speech is the cognitive aspect of human communication, while language is noncognitive
  E) there is no difference. Language and speech are the same thing.
