Why might having an overactive thyroid gland make someone feel jittery and hungry?

Your thyroid controls your metabolism so when there is too much of it, your body processes start to speed up. This leads to anxiety as well as increased anxiety, thus the jittery feeling.
Biology - The only science where multiplication and division mean the same thing.
