Any help would be awesome!  These questions are for a lab where the Professor used varying amounts of Mg in the same amounts of HCI. Balloons attached to the top of florence flasks. The balloons self-inlflated with hydrogen gas from the chemical reaction. The 3rd flask had 1/2 of a mole and the 1st flask had 1/8 of a mole of Mg.


Why did the 3rd flask balloon (the red one) inflate more than the 1st flask balloon (the purple one)? Incorporate the concept of limiting reagent in your answer.

I can definitely help you with this question.  I just need to know what you mean by
"varying amounts of Mg in the same amounts of HCI"
Does that mean he had the same mass or number of moles of HCl as Mg in each flask?  I believe it to be necessary information to calculate the limiting reagent.

Each flask contained 1/10 mol of HCl, the first flask contained 1/80 mol of Mg, the second 1/40 mol Mg, the third 1/20 mol Mg, and the fourth 1/10 mol Mg.
