Can anybody explain the key difference between meiosis 1 and meiosis 2?  As in there was something said in lecture about the outcome being haploid and diploids? something along those lines. Sorry I am really trying to understand this but little tiny differneces in questions always get me confused. Thank you.

Prior to meiosis I a replication of DNA takes place which doesn't happen before meiosis II.  The products of meiosis I are 2 diploid daughter cells, while the products of meiosis II are 4 haploid daughter cells.
