You are part of a research team designing a robot for competition. Your robot needs to be able to respond to painful stimuli like stepping on broken glass. What type of human control system will you model your robot's after and explain your reasons for choosing it.

One should choose the nervous system and a simple neural reflex because of its ability to rapidly respond and remove the robot from potential harm. The response will be specific for the region in harm and the robot will get a sense of the intensity of pain via a change in the frequency of signaling.
