Did Caracalla's law of 212 A.D. diffuse or worsen the class struggles in Rome?

  A) Caracalla's law worsened the class struggle in Rome. Now that all freeborn people of Empire were citizens, the distinction of being worthier or humbler than another was even more important.
  B) The law diffused the class struggle in Rome. Now that everyone was a citizen, it provided a level field for all.
  C) Caracalla's law worsened the situation due to the aristocracy and the clients that they would choose to support. It became a very competitive place among the freeborn and middle tiers of society.
  D) The law diffused the class struggle in Rome, since everyone was provided equal protection under the law and granted benefits; competition dissolved and a state of relative peace ensued.
  E) The situation in Rome remained unchanged despite Caracalla's actions.
