I have this multiple choice question and I am really am in doubt which one is correct:

Question: Temporal summation most likely occurs with:
a) Infrequent, subthreshold excitation
b) Infrequent, inhibitory stimuli
c) Rapid succession of stimuli that each exceed threshold
d) Rapid succession of subthreshold excitation
e) Single strong stimulations from one neuron


My answer is (e) but I am not sure!

Can anyone give me any feedback?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply back.

I guess I do have to read about the temporal and spatial summation ... I am finding it hard to understand what they mean and their difference.

I was kinda convinced that answer (e) was the correct answer but guess not!  Smiling Face with Glasses
