Ten Commandments of Chemistry

We are designing our chemistry t-shirts for our tie-dye lab, and were considering putting these on the back of the shirt. I thought you would enjoy. If you have a funnier suggestion, please post!

10 Commandments of Chemistry

1.   Chemistry is science. Thou shalt have no system other than metric.
2.   Thou shalt not create element names or symbols from thine imagination.
3.   Thou shalt honor the diatomic elements and keep them as dyads.
4.   Thou shalt remember Avogadro’s number, for it is right and mole-y.
5.   Honor the significant figures and round thine answers appropriately.
6.   Thou shalt not place two anions or two cations in an ionic relationship; it is an abomination unto chemistry.
7.   Thou shalt use parentheses judiciously, in calculations and in formulas.
8.   Thine equations shalt be balanced in atoms and in electrons.
9.   Thou shalt not place false charges on thine ions.
10.   Thou shalt not desire thy neighbor’s paper as thine own.
