You actually ask about the ACTIVITY of the enzyme? (Enzyme activity = moles of substrate converted per unit time) or you ask the reaction that is catalyzed by the enzyme?
If it's the 2nd, then lactase catalyzes the reaction D-lactose -> D-galactose + D-glucose.

Anything ending in -ase generally means enzyme. Lactase breaks down lactose
