Does plants need ATP energy for germination or does it happen passively without using ATP?

i would assume it'd need ATP for growth... metabolism is pretty essential.

Yes of course it does.. All the "nutrients" stored in the seed are broken down during germination to break dormancy, and this uses ATP. Other requirements that are needed for germination are plenty of water, oxygen, a suitable temperature depending on the seed whether it preferred cold or warm environments, and in some cases, light..  Slight Smile
