In following 2 Cases (Case A and Case B), the concentrations of solute X (unit mM) in two 1 L Compartments separated by a membrane diffusible to X are:
Case A -> Compartment 1: 9mM Compartment 2: 11mM
Case B -> Compartment 1: 22mM Compartment 2: 20mM

In what direction of Compartments will the net flux of X take place in Case A and Case B?

My Answer:
In case A the net flux will flow from Compartment 2 to Compartment 1 (From Higher to Lower concentration in order to reach equilibrium). In Case B the net flux will be from compartment 1 to Compartment 2. (From Higher to lower concentration in order to reach equilibrium).

(Is this the correct answer/explanation? Are there any other factors that I should take into account such as osmotic pressure? Also could someone please explain the concept of osmotic pressure and when it should be considered as a factor in regards to diffusion etc.?
