Im in Bio 2 and I STILL dont understand this. Whats wrong with me? Anybody care to explain it to me again?

a control is pretty much a group that is used to make a reference point in which you base your results. You should pretty much already know their results.

for positive controls, it's a control group that you know for sure will test positive.. for example, if you're testing a bunch of food to see if they're fruits, you'll have an apple as your positive control

as for negative controls, it's a control group that you know will test negative...using the same example,  you'll have something like a carrot or a potato as your negative control.
