Using protein inhibitors for the treatment of cancer is a very effective treatment strategy.  Currently more than 11 drugs have been approved by the FDA.  If the protein being targeted is important for cell division, how do you think the drug works? Describe the mechanism using terms like binding site, allosteric inhibition, specificity, etc.

The drugs are likely specific to the protein's shape and active site. If the drug binds to the proteins binding site, it prevents from causing cancer. If the drug binds to the protein's allosteric site, the binding site would no longer be specific to its function, causing it not to work.
