Chromosome territories in the cell nucleus

Tags
Description
Chromosomes from a chicken were labelled with chromosome-specific, fluorescent probes. Each of the seven types of chicken chromosomes is coloured with a different dye. In this fluorescent light micrograph, each chromosome is shown to occupy its own distinct, nonoverlapping territory within the cell nucleus.
